Volunteer work

  • Somerset Cricket Foundation, Super 1s, During my time as a student at Millfield school I volunteered with the Somerset Cricket Foundation Super 1 disability hub for 4 years. This was a new type of coaching for me, I was working with people with different disabilities and needs, it was highly rewarding. As a coaching team we created an environment for them to thrive and enjoy cricket, it was amazing to see the progress they made over the 4 years and seeing people through Super 1s. It benefited my coaching skills hugely.
  • Rwanda Cricket Association, Rwanda, Hampshire cricket board have a link with the Rwanda Cricket Association to support the development of the game over there. I have travelled to Rwanda twice (In 2023 and 2025) as an integral part of the team delivering support through the Indatwa Cricket Foundation., As part of the young leaders' team. I have had specific responsibility for the development and delivery of umpiring sessions in Rwanda, inspiring and developing the new generation of umpires as well as mentoring current umpires and working with the leadership team to create an officiating pathway., In addition to my umpiring role, I also delivered sessions in:, Coaching specialist sessions to hundreds of children with only tennis balls and cones., Delivering umpiring and scoring courses to young officials where we did both classroom and practical sessions., Ran period health sessions to players, coaches, and parents to spread awareness and help support the girls when they are playing cricket., Delivered coaching sessions to a new generation of young coaches., As part of the Indatwa Cricket Foundation's drive for sustainability I have been selected to join the ICF development group, working on projects to create sustainability by 2029.

Relevant experience

  • I have been coming to the Lake District since I was 5, my parents own a house up here.
  • Since I was young I have participated in lots of outdoor activities. These included climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, ghyll scrambling, go ape, via ferrarta and climb the mine, to name a few!
  • I rock climbed at Keswick climbing wall where I achieved my NICAS level 3 and then went on to complete my level 4 in lead climbing at Bristol climbing wall where my school would train.
  • I have completed the via ferrarta multiple times and brought my friends along and absolutely love it and have always been keen to be an instructor.
  • The idea of working in that environment excites me and allows me to explore another avenue away from cricket.
