I am Dr Sareh Pool, MD, a graduate of one of the most competitive medical universities in Iran, with extensive experience in acute and general medicine. I have worked as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine at Golestan Hospital, and as Clinical Director of an Addiction Treatment Clinic under Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, overseeing methadone maintenance therapy services.
I have over six years’ experience in A&E and general medicine, and six years in the UK NHS as a Healthcare Assistant in a GP surgery. After obtaining full GMC registration via high-scoring PLAB exams and the OET, I completed a one-month clinical fellowship in the NICU to further familiarise myself with NHS systems.
I hold BLS and ALS certifications, have extensive teaching experience, and have completed multiple NHS training courses. I am a British citizen with full rights to work in the UK.

As a clinical fellow in a busy A&E, I worked closely with specialists, led resuscitation teams, and prioritized effective teamwork and communication to enhance patient care. I also gained valuable experience as a healthcare assistant in a London GP surgery, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care. Through these roles, I developed strong flexibility, problem-solving, and communication skills essential for effective healthcare teamwork.
I assessed the frequency of HbA1c checks in type 2 diabetes patients, aiming for 100% compliance every 3–6 months. The initial audit showed that fewer than 50% of patients met this standard, prompting educational sessions for junior doctors and nurses. A re-audit demonstrated a 20% improvement in HbA1c monitoring frequency.
As an NHS healthcare assistant in a GP surgery, I trained junior nurses and colleagues on ECG interpretation, phlebotomy, and BLS through regular hands-on and online sessions. As an A&E clinical fellow, I taught medical students, junior doctors, and nurses on topics like ALS, ABCDE protocol, and imaging interpretation. Additionally, I completed a medical mentoring course and plan to attend the "Teach the Teacher" course at Oxford Medical Training.
As a clinical fellow in A&E, I led an emergency response team for disasters and major accidents, organizing meetings and setting team goals under consultant supervision. I also led the CPR team during shifts, ensuring equipment readiness and clear role assignments. These leadership roles strengthened my problem-solving skills, teamwork, and ability to build trust within the team.
