Summary

I am an experienced, knowledgeable social worker that is passionate and committed to promoting the right outcome for children and families.

Having worked within children’s services in different roles for over 10 years, I have robust knowledge and experience in completing a range of assessments and reports that capture the lived experience of children and young people and informs effective planning and ultimately, the right decisions being made to safeguard children from harm and promote their well-being.


Throughout my career, I have learnt and developed an array of tools, skills and knowledge through both direct practice and training, including, Sigs of Safety, Parent Assess and the Graded Care Profile that have equipped me with the ability and confidence to complete a broad spectrum of assessments that pertain to parenting capacity and the needs of a child or young person.


I have a sound understanding of trauma informed practice and therapeutic practice and restorative practice models that have enabled me to work effectively with families who have deeply entrenched issues and a resistance to engaging with social care and have demonstrated consistently, having excellent relationship building skills and the capacity to engage and connect with children and families from a range of backgrounds and ethnicities who may be deemed as resistant and challenging.

I am creative in my approach to direct work and am confident in using varied tools, activities and ideas to truly understand the lived experience if children and families so as to effect change.

I am confident and knowledgeable in using theory and research to inform understanding and analysis as part of ratifying decision making within all aspects of my practice.

I have extensive experience in Public and Private Law proceedings and am skilled in writing thorough, well written court reports and statements as part of proceedings to inform decision making.

I have established an excellent reputation across the different local authorities I have worked in and, been acclaimed highly by the courts for the standard of my work and commitment to the families I have worked with to promote positive outcomes for children and young people.

Social worker - Managed Service

  • As a social worker within a managed service within Bradford Children's Trust, I have been responsible for managing extremely complex cases where there has been drift and delay and, had to respond quickly to manage risk and make well informed decisions that ensure the safety and welfare of children and young people.

  • Managing a very complex caseload within a long term team including Public and Private Law proceedings, child protection cases and children on a child in need plans.
