  • Collaborated with staff to develop classroom policies, management strategies and discipline methods. As part of my time at the school and on SLT, I led several whole school projects:

- The Mobilise Project led to a collaborative way of working between teachers and teaching assistants across our school. I delivered Insets, staff meetings and invited colleagues into my classroom to observe, and model the latest strategies founded on research.

- The ‘Spaced Learning' Project. Following the success of the first project, I looked into ways of placing knowledge into children's long term memory; the need to boost our retention scores in the areas of spelling and tricky words had been on our School Development Plan for a while. The whole school began to use the Leitner Model for fifteen minutes each day. After three terms , the data analysis showed an improvement in our children's spelling scores and the majority of children were now achieving the expected level at the end of the year. On this project, I collaborated with the parents. I was able to teach the method and many now followed it for the weekly spellings homework.

- Curriculum by Design Project. Finally, I was asked to lead a project that would help us to redesign a new and meaningful curriculum for our school. I led parents and staff through a consultation process before deciding on the key drivers and vision that we wanted to implement. I then led staff through a series of staff meetings, where we developed short term and long term schemes of work that incorporated our new values. We also applied the spaced learning strategies into our new curriculum following the success and results of my previous project
