I’m applying for this role because I’m really interested in moving into an area where organisation, accuracy and good communication make a real difference. I’m also at a point in my career where I’m genuinely craving a new challenge, something that will allow me to grow, learn new systems and take on more responsibility in a structured, professional environment. Now that my youngest daughter is older, I also have much more flexibility with my working hours and commitments, which means I am able to take on a role with greater responsibility and long-term progression. This position feels like good opportunity.
In my current clinical role, I manage both internal and external sedation referrals, organise sessions, keep records up to date, and ensure everything runs smoothly for patients and clinicians. I pride myself on being extremely organised, and I enjoy roles where attention to detail and good time management are essential. I also have experience with audits and compliance, ensuring that documentation is accurate, procedures are followed and standards are consistently met. This has strengthened my ability to work carefully, systematically and in line with set guidelines.
A big part of my job is putting patients at ease, answering their questions and supporting them throughout their visit. Because of this, I’ve become very much a people person, I genuinely enjoy interacting with different individuals from all walks of life and building positive working relationships. I also bring a positive attitude to everything I do and believe there is always a solution to a problem. I’m a natural problem solver, and I’m confident in tackling issues calmly and finding practical ways forward.
Supporting the dentist throughout treatments and helping on reception has taught me to stay calm under pressure, switching between tasks quickly or you could say taking multitasking to another level and I can adapt to any given situation, I like to think on my feet and use my initiative. These skills will help me manage busy tasks in a new environment.
I’m confident using Microsoft Office, databases and digital record systems, and I take pride in keeping information accurate, organised and easy to follow. In my current role I’ve also helped streamline a digital referral processes and improve patient flow.
Overall, I bring strong organisation, a positive and people focused approach, good problem solving skills, experience with audits and compliance, flexibility, reliability and a genuine enthusiasm for learning new things.
