While I have not held a paid job, I have gained valuable experience through long-term volunteer work. My primary focus has been on teaching local young children, where I have fostered their development and learning. Additionally, I have collaborated with organizations to create and distribute meals for individuals in need and the homeless, demonstrating my commitment to community service and social responsibility.
I have been actively involved in a competitive dance group since a young age, participating in various competitions throughout the South Asian region. This experience has allowed me to collaborate with peers across different age groups and foster connections with a diverse range of individuals. Personally, I achieved third place in an international tap solo competition. However, the majority of our successes in high-level competitions were the result of teamwork and collaboration within our group.
As a Course Representative (in UClan), I collaborated closely with the course module leader to ensure that my peers fully benefited from their learning experience.
This volunteer work was a partnership between my school (UWCSEA) and a local school for children aged 3 to 8. To accommodate parents who needed to work longer hours, the local school extended hours for the children, allowing them to engage in new subjects and participate in play activities designed by myself and other peers, to entertain while fostering teamwork, imagination, and creativity. Throughout my time at the school, I developed the following skills:
I volunteered at Willing Hearts, a soup kitchen organisation where individuals and companies come together to prepare, cook, package, and deliver mass batches of food to the homeless and those in need. My involvement allowed me to understand how this organisation enhanced community spirit, fostered a sense of belonging, and developed an understanding of the local community and those within it. While also ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards were upheld.

I was born and raised in Singapore, where I developed a strong sense of self-discipline and responsibility towards my education. The emphasis on academic excellence in my home country fostered my curiosity and motivated me to seek knowledge beyond the curriculum.
I consistently engaged with my learning by asking questions and using my free time to explore subjects more deeply.
Relocating to the UK for university provided me with new perspectives and experiences. During the COVID pandemic, I discovered my preference for in-person communication with teachers and peers. I find that face-to-face interactions help me build rapport and reduce the risk of miscommunication, enhancing the overall learning experience.
