I started my career at HITEK Electronic Materials as Inside Sales Administrator, becoming Supply Chain Co-Ordinator in 2013, giving me the opportunity to build on the knowledge from my previous position as the role expanded to support Production, Costings and Operations. Becoming Supply Chain Team Leader in 2017 helped further expand my business acumen and I learnt how to balance my time between the task, the growing team and individuals.
My position as Buyer at Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery enabled me to apply the skills and knowledge learned during my CIPS studies. The scope of procurement I was involved in was focussed specifically on Turnaround but still varied between both of materials and service contracts, and so I acquired a broader understanding of the value a Procure-
ment Professional brings to a business.
Whilst working at INEOS, I've relished being responsible for day-to-day site procurement needs as well as those specific to Turnaround. This insight into the general operational requirements has helped me to understand the wider picture and transfer efficiencies and cost savings into my Turnaround contracts as well.
