Assistant Financial Accountant

  • Lead on balance sheet management for the Trust and it's subsidiary companies, including completion and review of control accounts.
  • Responsible for preparation of payroll control accounts, to ensure all monies owing to the Trust are recovered in full.
  • Monthly review of general ledger trial balance coding to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Liaising with Payroll and HR to resolve queries in relation to salary sacrifice schemes and salary overpayments, including attending monthly Payroll operational meetings.
  • Responsible for reviewing VAT accounting for all income and expenditure, to ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Liaise with external VAT advisors on a monthly basis to resolve any queries.
  • Prepare and submit the Trust and subsidiary companies VAT returns, in a timely manner, to comply with HMRC requirements ensuring monies are recovered to aid cash flow.
  • Management of the NHS and Whole Government Agreement of Balances exercise ensuring that all income, expenditure, receivables and payables with other NHS and Government bodies is recognised and accounted for correctly. Liaising with leads at other organisations to identify and resolve any discrepancies to reduce variances between organisations.
  • Preparation and submission of the PFR/TAC forms, to assist in the production and submission of year end accounts.
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors to ensure a smooth auditing process.
