I am a second-year university student going into my third year, and I have 3 years of hospitality experience, including bar work, floor service, hosting, and barista work. My experience working in fast-paced environments has developed my ability to multitask, communicate effectively, and adapt to new challenges. I thrive in team settings, enjoy engaging with customers, and am always eager to learn new skills. I am now seeking opportunities to apply my experience in a new environment where I can continue to grow professionally and personally. I am highly organised and live a balanced work, study, social and sport lifestyle.
Working at The Three Sisters has given me a lot of experience as its one of the busiest venues in Edinburgh from the morning shifts where you are responsible for serving breakfast and coffees/teas to the night shifts where you are serving drinks to hundreds of people and so had to adapt to a fast-changing environment with high expectations. I have also covered roles such as hosting which included making sure all the reservations are sat and dealing with any preorders to ensure a smooth guest experience.
During my time at Quickhire as a zero-hour contact worker, I have worked in multiple sectors of hospitality, including serving, cashier duties, and bar and barista work. One of my highlights was working at O2 Academy, where I particularly enjoyed being part of the bar staff. These roles allowed me to develop strong customer service and communication skills, and I thrived in fast-paced, dynamic settings. This was perfect for first year of University however I now want a proper stable job.
As a front of house staff member at DiMaggio’s, I managed various responsibilities, including taking orders, preparing drinks at the bar, and engaging with customers. I regularly closed the restaurant, ensuring it was restocked and cleaned for the next day. Working in this role honed my multitasking abilities as I often handled both barista and cocktail duties while maintaining strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
As part of the floor staff at The Corinthian, I had the opportunity to take on significant responsibility, from setting up and servicing events such as weddings to working solo or as part of a team. I also enhanced my problem-solving skills by handling difficult customer situations calmly and effectively. I am confident in my ability to work well with others and quickly adapt to new challenges, which has made me a fast learner in any role I undertake.
