Affiliations

  • Poetry: Take interest in the dual process of reading and writing poetry. As shown through the plethora of poetry modules I have taken part in throughout my degree, I am interested in the nature of poetry and the cultures and environments they are written under.
  • Reading: Also shown by the nature of my degree, one of my major hobbies lie in books. I enjoy reading and exploring new worlds and experiencing differing stories through the words of stories. My current favourite lies in Russian Literature, specifically Anna Karenina.
  • Piano: Other than reading, another hobby of mine is music. I enjoy listening to music, old and new, while also making music. Having played piano since the age of 5, and completed many exams, both theory and practical ones, I take a great hobby in piano. Although I no longer take lessons and examines, piano remains a hobby I indulge in.
  • Writing Literature and Fiction: In free time I often write fiction, propelling my ideas onto page.
  • Architecture: Interested in design, I find architecture and the historical aspects of buildings valuable. I enjoy the differing architectures through cultures, and the designs of societies.
  • Through my English BA module of the Gothic, I delved into Gothic literature but also Gothic architecture, something that has only heightened this interest. From books to mind, this interest in architecture more recently manifests itself through visiting London institutions, and learning about their history, including my recent visit to the ICAEW, 2 Middle Temple Inn and The Royal Court of Justice.
  • Knitting: Having been taught knitting my grandmother, I enjoy the process of knitting, and the mental relaxation of it. As I improve my goal is to donate knitted items to charities.
  • Travel: Intertwined with my interest in design, I enjoy travelling to new places, immersing myself in new environments, with different cultures, art, and life. I enjoy drawing my surroundings, imbuing myself within the natural world, and in the present moment.
  • Singing: After completing examinations in singing, I have kept it up recreational, it is now a hobby that I enjoy doing in my free time.
  • Animal awareness: One of my great passions are the wellbeing of animals, and the ultimate goal in ending animal neglect, abuse and homelessness. I often look into organisations that can tell me more about animal and nature cruelty but also inspiring animal rescues, including Save the Reef and Karmagawa. With my future aspiration to volunteer at a rescue centre, I hope I can do my part in ending animal cruelty and neglect.
