In this role i have completed 4 different loft conversions and 1 garage conversion working alongside a qualified carpenter, this including building 3 dormers and 1 hip to gable with a dormer.

This job has taught me how to accurately measure and cut floor joists and rafters, as well as fit them level and flush. It has also gave me experience in laying tongue and groove flooring as well as plaster boarding and insulating, I have brief experience at stud walling however this is something I would love to get better at.

This role has also taught me how to work quickly and effectively in a pair and in bigger teams, to meet deadlines and complete jobs. I have also learnt the important of keeping site clean and clear communication with customers.

Safely moving and tidying away materials, to ensure a safe working environment. Aiding qualified carpenters, contributing to effective building practices.

This role built resilience to work long 11 hour days outside in all weather, digging trenches and holes for foundations. as well as brief experience in building garden fences and stone walls.
