Compassionate and enthusiastic third year (Adult) Nursing Student with a range of experience throughout various clinical areas. I can work individually to provide high quality patient care or collaborate with the team to meet the needs of busy units. I remain confident in my abilities but aware of my limits meaning I am prepared to ask for help and raise concerns as necessary. I am competently trained in numerous nursing interventions and documentation but I look forwards to continuing to grow my clinical knowledge and building positive relationships.
Years of hospitality experience
Years of healthcare placements
During my time as a Student Nurse I have attended 12 different healthcare placements for a number of weeks. My time on these placements have allowed me to refine my clinical judgement and build confidence to work in fast paced and high tension environments. I have also been able to refine my communication skills both with colleagues and with patients. I make conserved efforts to practise in line with latest guidance, ensuring my work is in line with the NMC code of conduct and the 6 C's of nursing. Throughout my training Episodes of Care and Proficiencies were completed in full in a range of clinical settings, including my management placement.
Originally hired as a food runner, I quickly took on additional responsibility by being chosen to progress to become a waiter, showing I am not only a quick learner but can also be trusted with the extra responsibilities of a more intricate job role. As a waiter I catered for any and everyone that needed assistance or service, including both customers and colleagues. I took on many responsibilities during my time at Vintage Inns: Host, Bartender, Waiter, Assistant Chef and a supervisor to new staff. Facing upwards of 300 customers per day, I feel I am able to adapt to almost any situation; this however, does not mean that i am afraid to ask for assistance and guidance whenever necessary.
Having worked in both the concessions and restaurant area of the Derby County Football Stadium I encountered a variety of individuals and situations, all of which I handled professionally and to the best of my ability. As the staffing team is so large within the DCFC family, team work and cooperation is a necessity along with the ability to work and handle situations individually. Peak times provided a small window of time to serve a large amount of customers. Composure and confidence were key skills learnt and exercised during exposure to this environment.
I acted as a Host for a weekend event at a Vauxhall showroom. My role included catering for customers, ensuring they were comfortable, and keeping track of documentation and attendance. This brief role allowed me to practise my communication skills, time management and documentation.
