  • I teach in Year 6 daily and lead curriculum development at the school
  • I lead the subject leaders for each subject curriculum subject, supporting them to write action plans, monitor progression in their subject and advise on development

  • Taught daily across the school - most commonly Y2 and Y6. Planned progressive lessons in multiple subjects to children of varying range of abilities and disabilities.
  • Organised timetabling of staff, provision mapping, intervention and data analysis to ensure needs of all pupils are met.
  • Led English and redeveloped the reading curriculum based upon the SIP targets I had written. Led weeks of CPD to improve reading teaching (my NPQSL project being the focus).
  • Implemented software to support teachers deliver adapted teaching (Spelling Shed, Century Tech and Go Read).
  • Led PE across the school from EYFS to Y6. Delivered INSET for staff and have provided training locally and nationally (for YST) for PE curriculum development. Qualified as swimming teacher so able to teach groups of children during school swimming lessons. Liaised with Wolves Foundation to actively support teachers delivery in PE. Created half term activity days for children, alongside Wolves Foundation staff, and worked with Wolves to support families in need with food parcels every half term.
  • Created memorable moments for children, such as meeting royalty, being coached by Wolves players and having visits from many MPs and the Premier League.
  • Organised after school club provision and took sports teams to competitions and festivals frequently.
  • Stayed abreast of changes to school policies and educational trends by attending professional development courses and in-service training, including furthering my own education with NPQSL.
  • Completed risk assessments for all sporting competitions and PE health and safety elements. Frequently led off-site educational visits, completing pre-visits and risk assessing - EVC co-ordinator trained.

A volunteer role

  • Managed Wolverhampton Schools FA representative under 11 boys' team for 6 years and girls' team for 3 years. Matches took place on evenings and Saturday mornings.

  • Achieved a first 'Southern Counties Cup' for Wolverhampton and managed the first ESFA National Final since 1931.
