Employment Coach

Jobs 22
Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
2022.01 - Current

Jobs 22 is a government restart scheme aiming to create employment opportunities for individuals facing social, economical and wellness uncertainty during unemployment.. During my time at Jobs 22 I have progressed and completed different roles and will provide A brief snapshot on my different duties in each role.

My current role at Job 22 is working in the Delivery Support Services as an Employment Coach to support individuals to progress into their chosen career paths by providing advice, support and guidance.

To manage a caseload of participants and complete face to face appointments. I enjoy the value of developing positive relationships to coach and support my participants gain the adequate skills, qualifications and tools to help fulfil employment goals. Through building a positive rapport and listening to participant's concerns/barrier I'm able to offer positive solutions and encourage them to participate and contribute to regain the confidence to progress into their chosen career paths and better there lives.

During one of our first appointment I would write a tailored action plan that would be reviewed between myself and the participant whilst on our 12month program. The action plan would take into consideration the participant concerns/barriers and how together we would overcome these barriers. To create an action plan I would need to complete Diagnostic assessments and use analytical skills to produce a smart action plan

In my role I would familiarise myself with the current labour market and build positive relationships with local employers and recruitment agencies to generate opportunities for my participants to find employment, training opportunities and relevant support .

I use an in-house IT system to record participant information during face to face appointment and update tailored action plan where required. Any communication with the jobcentre and myself is recorded on file to ensure company compliance is followed accordingly.

Complete General Administration task such as uploading signed action plans and booking in forwarding appointments and upload any proof of payments

In-Work Support Advisor

Managing a Caseload of participants and completing regular checks to ensure support is given to help them remain in work. These checks included participants pay, hours, tax code, NI Number, job title and contract type. Based off this information I would assess risk and determine what threat the participant is to falling out of work and escalate where necessary.I would process new participants into in-work support and book an appointment with myself

.

I worked closely with in-work support coaches to assist participants with certain aspect they require support with such as travel, purchasing work gear and also offer courses for development purposes to increase participant pay/hours and also provide them with extra skills/qualification to progress in the role. ]

I would also communicate with participant/employment coach to resolve any queries regarding in-work support.

Using an in-house IT bespoke system, I would check and track participants' payment pings from HMRC till they reach the end of their restart journey and would complete a threshold. This would involve closing down the file and sending an exit email to the participant explaining this part of the process and what support there is.

If the participant falls out of work a rapid response process is followed which I complete. This would involve emailing the employment coach explaining the reason why the participant has fallen out of work, so adequate support is given to help participants return back to work.

Customer Support Advisor

Working on bespoke systems to complete Warm Handover to introduce participants to the restart scheme and explain the benefits and support jobs 22 provides I would allocate an employment coach and book the first two meetings which were a Engagement call and Initial Meeting.

During the restart journey participants have access to an app which contains various support mechanisms to support them back into work. The app has a live chat feature for the participant to contact me to assist with any concerns they have with the app which can include login issues, downloading the app or operating the app.

I would have access to a centralised email inbox to help with participants/employment coaches queries.

Each day I would send a email out to the business manager to ensure employment coaches had enough availability to book into for the next day of booking

I also had sole control of the days booking tracker to check that processes were being complied with from other members of the team to ensure everything was in working order before it was sent off to senior management
