Overall I can be a committed, hard working and positive addition to any placement, and I will strive to give as much as I can to ensure growth of wherever I am working.
This is volunteering for around 3 hours a week where I along with other leaders manage Cub Scouts aged 8-10 and Scouts aged 10-14 as well as teaching them very useful skills.
This has gained me the skill of leadership, as I know what I need to do to be a fair and effective leader.
At CodeNinjas my role was mainly to effectively teach children aged 5-14 how to code on a computer. This role came with additional responsibilities such as establishing a relationship with both the students and their parents, so that I could communicate the progress of the student to the parent. Additionally there was an element of hospitality involved, as I would need to create a comfortable space for these students to work effectively.
This gained me skills such as dealing with high pressure situations, as when the business suddenly grew there were many more students than instructors and they would all need assistance. Additionally this gained me the skill of communication and teamwork, as I would be constantly talking with the other instructors about who would handle what problems before and when they arose.
