Accomplishments

I am someone who is very active in school representation offsite and on sites and have been acknowledged for this in many different ways. Some notable examples of this includes but is not exclusive to:

  • Being selected to compete in district-wide Geography competitions 2x
  • Science competitions 2x
  • Maths competitions 3x
  • Being awarded honours for being the best in my respective subject every year so far (out of everyone in the year. Geography 2x in year 8 and 9. Religious Studies 1x in year 7)

In addition to these competitions, I am a member of a pivotal part of the school infrastructure called The School Senate.

This role provides me with many opportunities including:

  • Working in large scale projects to better the school. Some previous examples this taking place are the installation of a new AstroTurf, the bettering of toiletry facilities and the introduction of solar panels on a portion of the school ( all of these are a result of the student senate acting upon feedback proposed by the students within the school and their own experiences.
  • Formulation and executing plans for significant events. Evidence of these include debriefing new staff in the final days of an academic school year, holding schoolwide assemblies for major topics and the most recent example, and up and coming bakesale event of which all profits will go towards supporting each of the in school houses' respective charities.
  • Interviewing potential new staff. this entails getting the staff in a meeting room as I and 2 others (given that there are no absences) proceed to present questions regarding their past experience, reasons for wanting the job and potential skills that they bring to the table.

While all of the experiences have been extremely beneficial to my development, I believe that the most advantageous involvement has to be that of the interviewing new staff applicants. This is because I believe that the exposure to a professional environment that came with it has allowed me to deepen my communication skills while becoming accustomed to such circumstances.
