I currently work as the Road Crime Operations and Safer Essex Roads Partnership Co-Ordinator as well as being a Special Inspector volunteer officer for Essex Police of which I have undertaken for 13 years. I am looking for an opportunity to use my skills and knowledge in project management having recently completed the Prince2 course as well as undertaking a secondment with the Operational Policing Command Chief Superintendent as Staff Officer. Within this role I managed, reviewed, instigated, and undertook procurement of three major force projects, including the move from CS Spray to PAVA, the Operational Policing Command fleet review, and the assessment of Officer Personnel Safety Equipment for Essex Police on behalf of the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC). I believe that my experience in working with the various policing systems, managing major force projects, as well as my operational policing background as a Special Constable makes me the perfect candidate for this job.

Road Crime & Road Safety Partnership Co-Ordinator
I maintain and develop close working relations with other partner agencies through attendance of regular tri-partite meetings, local performance boards and case progression meetings, enabling the smooth implementation of the constant changes in the roads policing systems, adherence to targets, service level agreements, joint guidelines and NPCC guidelines.
I monitor and implement changes in relevant law, Force policy and procedures and NPCC guidelines, ensuring that staff are properly informed of changes, and that their working practices are adjusted in light of such changes or in the pursuit of improved efficiency to meet set targets and goals.
I manage, coach and motivate team and individual performance, participating in recruitment and selection, undertaking staff appraisals, addressing welfare, capability and discipline issues, advising on personal development, including the quality assurance, dip testing, assessment, allocation and throughput of work to enhance individual and team competencies, in order to maximise performance from individuals, enable a consistent high quality performance and ensure that a professional and efficient service is provided at all times.
I ensure systems are in place to capture activity and report to Senior Managers and SERP partners results of targeted work providing a point of contact for specialist advice and guidance to colleagues engaged in Roads Policing, in order to maintain and enhance the safety of roads within the county of Essex. I chair local and regional meetings as required and attend national development meetings representing Essex Police acting as the single point of contact in the review and development of national campaigns set through the NPCC.
I manage the development and functionality of volunteers including the development of Community Speed watch, and active citizens providing an innovative and forward thinking approach to partnership working in relation to broadening the accessibility and efficiency of pro-active policing in delivering road safety and enforcement.
2020 I undertook a secondment as Staff officer to the Chief Superintendent Operational Policing Command (OPC). During this time I managed from start to finish several force projects on behalf of the Chiefs Officer Group, of which included, the change from CS to PAVA spray, force development of new Personal Protection Equipment and the OPC fleet review. During the projects I ensured there were clear goals, the business case met the needs and objectives of the organisation, engaged with relevant areas of business and stakeholders, and ensured through procurement the project met the allocated budget and delivery time frame.
October 2014 - July 2019
Abnormal Loads - key functions - managing the operational logistics and risk of moving, on the road network 'over large' loads. Managing appropriate escorting of movements including allocation of officers, finance and contract associated with the operator and Essex Police. Working to strengthen intelligence links and confidence with operators to report high harm crime. Working at National and International conferences in representation of Essex Police and the systems in place for managing operations in haulage.
Traffic Management - key functions - to engage on new highway schemes including working alongside, National Highway teams, operational and logistical planning teams within Essex Police, local councillors, parishes, press and social media. The role oversees the management of operational communication lines between Essex Police and National Highway construction teams, as well as effectively communicating any disruption regarding road matters to media and the wider public. The focus being to minimise impact to daily road users, operational policing and to maintain road safety.
The Traffic Management role ensures effective systems are operational for enforcing speed on all agreed designated routes and diversions. Attending local forums, councillor and parish meetings taking ownership of communication channels between local communities, Essex Police and National Highways. Ensuring public confidence is maintained between Essex Police and all parties involved throughout the build stages of a project.
