  • Involved in the set up and running of the Liverpool CURE project at the Liverpool Royal hospital and have worked with other local Secondary Care Trusts to develop electronic referral pathways. working closely with the Trusts Smoking working groups
  • We work closely with the local Mental Health trust to support inpatients and community patients to stop smoking.
  • I work closely with the local maternity services and we deliver training to all midwives on VBA and CO Monitoring. We have recently introduced a Smoking in Pregnancy Midwife and I chair weekly meetings for the Smoking in Pregnancy working group there.

  • I worked alongside Dr Kathy Hawley and Leena Sankla to develop and implement an integrated model of smoking cessation in pregnancy. The 12 week program aims to engage pregnant smokers from deprived areas and works through a series of self-management and public health concerns such as healthy eating, breast feeding and exercise in pregnancy to raise self-esteem and overall health and wellbeing
