Ib Visual Arts students collaborate with designers from Fab Lab Studio to understand the design process; from formulating an initial brief to creating the final product using digital software, laser
cut & 3-D printer.

Visiting the Venice Biennale, students analyse, compare and contrast artworks from a variety of international perspectives. Students also explore traditional galleries in Venice, curatorial approaches & discuss selected artworks which directly influence their own art practice.

Visiting contemporary & traditional galleries in Madrid, students develop their skills in analysing and discussing selected artwork; broadening their primary based research and exploring artistic styles from different historical and cultural contexts.

Art exchange programme with five European schools. Students travelled to partner countries to experience local art and create collaborative projects, exploring themes of community, local history, and global perspectives.

• Early Career Teacher (ECT) with QTS; Teaching Key Stage 3 & 4 Art & Design and Key Stage 5 Graphic Design.

A research project exploring how cross-cultural collaboration can shape students’ understanding of community. Students from London and Delhi exchanged drawings and reflective writing and participated in online discussions via skype. The project took place during my school placement at St Thomas the Apostle College, Peckham (London, UK), in partnership with a school in Delhi, India.

• Second placement in PGCE course; Designing open ended lessons that value student choice & collaboration. Initiating an origami art installation that transformed the school environment.

Over 700 participants including children, families, and members of the wider community created collaborative drawings and sculptures in one day exploring the theme of “civilisation.”

• First placement in PGCE course; Designing mini-projects that celebrate multiculturalism and a sense of belonging.
