From a young age I have always enjoyed working with my hands, and knew I wanted to work in that sort of industry. I helped with DIY jobs in the home, such as assembling flat pack kits etc.
My main hobby was Lego and I enjoyed constructing complex kits from following the plans.
I did a year at KGS to improve my exam results and to study other subjects that weren't available at my previous school.
In 2025 I gained an A grade in National 5 Woodwork, a B in National 5 Metalwork, a C grade in National 5 Application of Mathematics and a D grade in National 5 Geography. I also got a D in Higher Music.
As part of this year I also went to Orkney College on a Friday to do a Construction course which I really enjoyed.
Towards the end of the year I did two work experience placements at Casey Construction and Cloustons which enabled me to decide on what I wanted to do in my career, as I was interested in joinery.
