With over ten years of professional experience in the maritime industry, working both as a senior engineer onboard and in shore side positions. This time has allowed the develop a meticulous, detail-orientated approach to work with a strong and diverse depth of engineering knowledge and experience to draw from. This includes dry-docking, project management, budget management as well trials of new alternative fuels in the maritime industry.
Working within the Carnival UKs maritime department, the Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS) Superintended is responsible for technical support To the CUK fleet. As a superintendent I am responsible of the asset management strategy and work closely with the ships teams, regulatory bodies and suppliers to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively and equipment and vessels availability is maintained to the highest level. This includes monitoring and support of the technical performance of the vessels and systems, coordinate and supervise routine maintenance, project management of major works performed during dry-docking, ensure the vessel complies with all international regulations, foster close working relationships with both ship teams and regulatory bodies, prepare and manage budgets (including maintenance, repairs and dry docking) attend the vessel for regular inspections and audits, optimisation and improvement of existing systems.

Showing strong skills in management, leadership and knowledge in all engine room equipment. This includes ensuring that all maintenance is carried out correctly with documentation, react to any issues or emergencies while providing leadership during such times. Having gained specialized knowledge in working on equipment such as boilers, start air compressors, diesel electric engines, waste water treatment plants, incinerators, fresh water generators, exhaust gas cleaning systems, ballast water treatment systems, HVAC and ancillary hotel systems. These systems all fall under the responsibility of myself while on watch and, under my direction the junior watch keeper and engine team. As well as providing direct feedback on technical and safety issues to the Chief Engineer. Being responsible for maintaining a parts inventory for the above systems based on current and projected needs of the vessel. As a Sr. engineer my responsible also include reviewing, understand and ensuring compliance with all company, environmental and operational directives under direction of the Chief Engineer.
Key Experience
Working as Sr Technical Support Engineer at the Carnival head office in Miami, I was the point of contact for all 27 vessels within Carnivals fleet for any technical issues related to the engine components and engine systems, and reported directly to the Director of Engine Systems for the Carnival fleet. I was also responsible for organizing service engineers and visits, liaising spare parts, dealing with emergency situations regarding engine systems or components, assisting with planning of future engine overhauls and working closely with 3rd party's to ensure that current overhauls are finished on time. Taking responsibility for monitoring and tracking engine system performance, reliability and how to improve the efficiency. Reporting on the overall condition of the fleet and providing reports on performance improvement. This also included working on investigating the feasibility of new technology to integrate into current engine room systems and equipment including the use of alternative fuels.
