Summary

A dedicated professional with extensive knowledge of various hand tools such as hammers, screw drivers, hack-saws, coping saws, general wood saws, and battery drills. I have have experience using machinery for example, wood and metal lathes, laser cutters, pillar drills, ban-saws, Hegner saws, kilns, and brazenharthes (wood scorcher) within a school workshop environment complemented by hands-on experience in the workshop at Westminster Controls.

During my time at Westminster I made numerous backplates, installed / mounted the components on the backplates, wired the backplates following the control panel design wiring diagram / layout drawings, fitted the backplates in the control panel enclosure, mounted the control panel labels / lamps and switches on the control panel door. Once the control panel was completed it was tested by one of the engineers and then wrapped for shipping to site.

I believe i demonstrate strong customer service skills supported by completion of various Leeds City Council training courses which include Exceeding Visitor Expectation course, Fire Warden course and Ladder Training course. I have also completed numerous other courses relating to food safety at my current job to develop my knowledge in the work environment.

I also have reliable transportation as I hold a full clean driving licence and own my own car. I have held a full licence since February 2025.

My career goals include further developing my carpentry, joinery, and assembly skills within the industry, specifically taking inspiration to improve design ideas and practicing to enhance the best finished product i can to my abilities.

I am hardworking and enthusiastic and during my school life and work for Leeds City Council I have had very limited time off work due to sickness.

During my time at school i pursued three subjects at sixth form and especially enjoyed the product design / 3D design course. This subject involved designing a product from a criteria, experimenting with different materials and manufacturing methods, to then creating the end product. This process was repeated numerous times during my two years at sixth form and the three years prior to that doing the subject at GCSE.

I believe i am well suited to this role as i enjoy working with my hands, I am keen to learn new skills, I am a good communicator and team player, and believe i would be a good fit within your company.
