• After calling it a day on my six year career with SHC i decided to return to bricklaying. I am now on site subcontracted to Champions, building substructure house footings, retaining walls, ring beams, block and beaming and everything in between.

• When i joined SHC i started off at the very bottom as a labourer, but was lucky enough to have been put with one of the best gangs on the firm. We constructed roads, laid deep drainage, dug and poured house footings, completed oversites and undertook many other specialty construction works. After three years of labouring they felt i was ready to go on my own and be a ganger, in charge of a labourer and a 13ton swing shovel machine.
