Salvador Gordo

As an international Student-Athlete at the University of Stirling, pursuing a degree in Business Management, I bring a unique blend of academics, leadership, and international athletic experience to the table. My educational journey began at Plymouth College, where I took my GCSE and A-Level studies and was honoured to serve as a Boarding Prefect, developing strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

In addition to my academic pursuits, my journey as an international swimmer has taken me to numerous countries, allowing me to gain a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives. I've had the privilege of representing my home country, Angola, in four World Championships and the Olympic Games. These experiences have not only enhanced my athletic skills but also broadened my understanding of international cultures and the way I view the world.

Moreover, my commitment to excellence in swimming led me to be granted a prestigious scholarship by World Aquatics, providing the opportunity to train at one of their high-performance center in Kazan, Russia for a full year and had the opportunity to promote a swimming brand and help with managing the social media of the centre. This experience provided me with valuable insights into international sporting and the importance of brand image and social media.

Now, I continue my swimming journey as a dedicated member of the University of Stirling's swim team. My commitment to both my academic and athletic endeavours has instilled in me the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

I am eager to connect with like-minded individuals, explore opportunities, and engage in meaningful collaborations. Whether it's discussing business strategies, sharing experiences in athletics, or exploring ways we can work together, I welcome the chance to connect and expand my network with professionals who share my passion and dedication.

International Blues Award

- An International Blue shall be awarded to an individual who demonstrates outstanding ability in a sport but does not represent the Sports Union. They may represent in their sport at a national or international level. International Blues shall be awarded at the discretion of the committee, provided the nomination clearly outlines the athlete’s suitability for the award.
