Medical Doctor with 2+ years postgraduate experience across General Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics and Emergency medicine. Following completion of the Foundation Programme I moved to EM for the variety and acute nature of the specialty. I split my time currently between a busy tertiary-care ED and an urgent care centre. Initially I found the acute nature of the ED challenging, having to constantly learn and adapt to new situations however with time I have grown to enjoy every shift. Being on the front lines, I have seen patients at their most unwell and often been able to provide immediate relief and support. The variation in patients and pathologies has provided a rich and diverse learning environment daily. The camaraderie and teamwork within the ED foster a strong sense of community and shared purpose, making the demanding work deeply fulfilling and meaningful.
