My role is a hybrid role, 3 days from home and 2 office based/out on assessments. I manage and oversee the workload for the team and cover a wide area, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and all of Dorset.

I started in care during the first lockdown. I thoroughly enjoy care work and quickly became a senior carer.
I then become office based, coordinating staff rotas, liaising with service users, their families, social workers, district nurses, occupational therapists and a variety of agencies to ensure quality of care. I am involved in writing care plans and setting up new packages of care.
The role involved having on-call responsibilities for all out of hours phone, staffing, rota issues, service user queries etc one night per week and every other weekend. This involves using a staff rota system called CARAS and online app for carers called PASS.
My role as Deputy Care Manager involved receiving the care plans from the local authority, setting up on our systems and then going out to meet the service user and their family within their homes so the package of care can be assessed. This is a great opportunity to meet the service user and them to meet me so that they have a point of contact within the company
I used to still go out into the community to have staff shadow me as part of the training processes. I found this gave me a chance to build rapport and relationship with the service users which is very useful when dealing with their needs and relaying information to social workers etc. I also used to recruit carers and arrange interviews.
I am committed to providing exceptional quality care. I am hard working and flexible in order to meet the needs of the business, often changing days, working hours, and staying late.
