Fleetwood's was an upscale restaurant and music/events venue owned by Mick Fleetwood, from Fleetwood Mac. Once situated in the town of Lahaina, Maui; before it was lost in the devastating fire of August 2023.


The restaurant was a collection of Mick's life's work, including photos from the band and relics from Fleetwood Mac. It was one of the busiest and most successful restaurants on the island of Maui, employing several hundred people and hosting many celebrities.


I worked on and off for Fleetwoods over the years helping them with events. This particular time, I was covering maternity leave for their office manager.


This role involved;

  • liaising with department managers to ensure all invoices were submitted to our Canada finance office.
  • Managed daily banking, counting cash, and maintaining our daily limit of 12k cash on hand.
  • Reported all tips and cash sales for transparent tip pooling in keeping with government regulations.
  • Made sure that vendors were paid on time.
  • Oversaw the sale of gift vouchers and online sales.
  • Liaised with hotel concierge regarding special guests and voucher sales.


Production and Administration Assistant

I helped to guide new and existing clients with all their Screenprinting and embroidery needs. I managed the embroidery department, invoiced clients and ordered goods. I worked with the team on every aspect of production making sure deadlines were met and inventory was accurate.

My role consisted of;

• answering calls and emails promptly.

•ordering supplies and products from over 40 different vendors

•paying and sending out invoices to clients

•managing production scheduling and machine maintenance.

After the Birth of my Daughter I needed a flexible schedule to work around child care. I started a cleaning company servicing vacation rentals, offices and residential properties. During this time I worked hard to build my reputation as trustworthy, reliable and consistent. I hired several contractors to assist me with the growing number of contracts.

  • Managed automated service software which generated repeat appointments and even tracked cleaners to maintain efficiency.
  • Met with potential new clients to bid jobs and maintain customer rapport.
  • Maintained job standards by checking work and working alongside my team.

Retail Manager

  • As Retail Manager was a new position at the Montage, I was heavily involved with writing and implementing new operational procedures. I worked with the director of IT to move all inventory over to a new POS system.
  • Responsible for over two million in inventory across multiple retail areas throughout the Montage property.
  • I oversaw the ordering, receiving, processing, merchandising, and daily sales operations.
  • Worked within budget guidelines and achieved financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances.
  • I worked closely with the Sales and Marketing department to deliver creative strategies for optimal sales.
  • All employees worked with a Cultural Ambassador to continually learn about Hawaii's culture with sensitivity and respect. As a leader within the hotel, it was my responsibility to make sure that this respect was reflected through my work and the work of my team.
  • As well as securing and managing my budget I also met monthly with the Director of Finance to scrutinize Profit and Loss, initiating corrective actions if necessary and working hard to secure departmental objectives.
  • Maintained store staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees. I conducted performance reviews and aided in continual learning schemes with the Learning Director.

My time with Montage was brief, due to the birth of my daughter, but I'm very thankful for the experience. It was my first time working in the hospitality industry as before that I'd always worked in high-end sales. Although a very different kind of work, there is something wonderful about all the very different departments within a hotel working together.

  • Worked closely with the Service Manager, overseeing bike repairs, monitoring the quality of work and assuring customer satisfaction with all service.

  • Assisted the Group Merchandiser, Buyers and Stock controller in developing and implementing admin systems. Although I have worked across the company in a range of roles, before I left I was solely based in the company offices, which are responsible for the management of all seven stores in the company, along with a substantial internet business
  • Managed the Menswear store in Kendal, Cumbria, UK.
  • Dealt with very affluent customers and ensured that a high standard of service was maintained.

  • The store sold made-to-measure suits with the Italian company Pal Zileri. Although it was possible for customers to be measured on a walk-in arrangement, I also organized events with valued customers twice a year in which they were able to choose from seasonal fabrics. I often engaged with follow-up meetings at their offices or homes where I would present their new made-to measure suits with an array of products I felt suited their needs.
  • Worked closely with the store tailor to offer any alterations required.
  • Oversight and day-to-day management of staff within the menswear department, eg. organizing and delegating tasks and responsibilities, training in in-store procedures, participating in staff appraisals.
  • Assisted in the management of external marketing events eg, several fashion shows, yearly at Sunderland Football Club
  • Assisting the managing director on buying trips in London, suppliers including Pal Zileri, Woolrich, Napapijri and Barbour.

We occasionally had to assist customers who enjoyed fame or public status; this involved a degree of discretion that undoubtedly set us aside from other high-end competitors.

Affiliations

  • I love being in nature, enjoy working on my garden, growing food and Beekeeping. I have a back ground in the Arts. In my spare time, I enjoy making rugs, I love cooking all kinds of different foods and learning about new cultures and recipes. I love all animals and until recently, was involved with a community team responsible for reuniting lost pets with their owners.
