Hobbies

I enjoy walking my dog, Flora, and planning routes around the beautiful local countryside., Each week, I look forward to looking after my granddaughter and the meaningful interactions that have developed since she was little, particularly through her play and enthusiasm for the world around her., As often as possible, I enjoy meeting up with friends and making those important connections over coffee or lunch or sometimes a craft activity or two.

Professional Experience

  • I am deeply committed to my professional growth as a teacher and continuously seek opportunities to enhance my skills and knowledge. Over the years, I have attended various workshops and training sessions focusing on areas such as differentiated instruction, behaviour management, and incorporating technology into the classroom. I have also participated in courses that support my work with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring I can provide tailored learning experiences for all children. Additionally, I regularly engage with educational research and best practices to stay updated on new approaches in teaching and learning. At present, in the classroom, we are piloting a neutral colour scheme with an emphasis on limiting stimuli to avoid over stimulation and reduce anxiety, creating a calmer and more focused learning environment for the children.
  • I believe that professional development is essential not only improving my teaching practice but also for adapting to the ever-changing needs of pupils. I am always open to feedback and actively seek out opportunities for collaboration with colleagues to learn from their experiences. I am passionate about sharing what I learn with my school community, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ultimately providing the best possible educational experience for my pupils.
  • Experienced primary school teacher with a strong background in working within rural school environments. Skilled in delivering engaging lessons, building strong community ties, and adapting teaching strategies to support diverse learners. Passionate about student well-being, outdoor education, and creating inclusive, nurturing classroom environments.
