I am a multi-skilled fitter with 20 years experience , For the last 4 years I have worked at London underground with most of my time spent in the technical section. Working in condition monitoring and lubrication, my past employment has help me be a key member of this small team, allowing me to bring in new ideas and make changes to the way we look at lubrication.
In previous employment I was the Supervisor of a small team of engineers for a leading Manufacturer of lubrication systems. Installing and servicing our equipment, ensuring that work is completed to a high standard and following risk assessments and method statements.
I have experience in Condition based monitoring equipment to highlight early warning signs and issues that could result in lost down time or even failure to our client's assets. The reports I produced helped our clients know when they need to carry out maintenance and repairs.
I am reliable and hardworking individual with a strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and always looking to learn new skills. I have an excellent work ethic, with a can-do attitude and commitment to complete tasks the highest of standards.
I work with small team of engineer's collecting data which will help identify and pinpoint issues with the reliability of our escalator assets, providing diagnosis and repair to the problems found. There are an array of condition-based monitoring techniques we can use, which can be taking oil samples from gearboxes and thermal imaging of bearings and motors. Acoustic and vibration analysis / monitoring helps us to find issues with misalignment, looseness, imbalances and bearing defects. With this data we can identify asset wear / damage and plan to carry out corrective action before it may lead to costly unplanned down time or even catastrophic failure. With my lubrication background we have been able to carry out the condition assessments for escalator auto lubrication systems on refurbishment projects. Repairing pumps and installing new pipe work where damaged.
Working in one of the Escalator Maintenance teams I was responsible for carrying out statutory internal cleaning of Escalators. I also undertook maintenance and repairs with escalator fitters when required, working on both mechanical and electrical faults following London Underground work instructions and to LU standards.
