Attended Edinburgh college for 21 months – where I gained relevant qualifications and experience working with instrumentation systems. An offshore installation was replicated within the college which allowed me to simulate the oil and gas production process as well as day-to-day maintenance activities related to my discipline. The simulations on the replicated platform allowed me to advance my knowledge and understanding of core instrumentation skills.
After completion of the college phase, I then moved to on-the-job training, situated on TotalEnergies' asset ‘GRYPHON A FPSO', here I gained first-hand experience working closely with a very experienced technician on an offshore installation for approximately 2 years, allowing me to both acquire new, and improve on existing knowledge.
