From working in the engineering industry for the past 5 months I have realized that this is the correct pathway for me to go down as I enjoy carrying out tasks on the work floor and am also interested in getting into the design office to help the design teams production. Being at Ulster University since September has also provided me with extra knowledge that may benefit the workforce as I have passed all my modules for the 1st semester.

- I also spent time in the quality control section where I was shown how to make sure all workpieces are of the right measurements, and how to check if welds are passable by checking them with a torch and then x-rays to check for cracks and incomplete fusion.
- I gained the opportunity to get introduced to welding as I carried out TIG, MIG and stick welds as an introduction
- I learnt all the health and safety requirements in industry and how all PPE equipment is required to be wore in the workplace
- Got the chance to shadow fabricators and learn how they like to carry out their work
- Operated the industry saw to cut the raw materials to precise measurements
