Director of Rhonors Trading LTD ( online sales ) - VAT registered.
My Business here started as a reselling hobby on eBay, It then quickly escalated to a full on business reselling branded products on amazon. I built relationships with suppliers across the world to give me access to fast selling products at good prices allowing me to ship all over, including Mexico, Canada , USA and the whole of Europe using amazons selling platform.
I slowly built a team of 4 staff (virtual assistants) based in the Philippines so I could outsource the daily tasks of running the business, allowing me to focus on higher ROI
( return on investment ) tasks. A long with managing a team I built relationships with suppliers, distributors and other sellers who would guide and mentor me, from all around the world.
I built strong working relationships with my staff which was built upon trust first and foremost. 1 of which employee was and has been promoted to general manager who now does tasks such as admin work, manage the staff and look at all the data and analytics to make sure of a smooth running operation, he now purchases products for the business and has learnt directly from myself.
As a manager working in the business I would review the daily output and productivity of my team through spreadsheets that automate figures to reflect their efforts, they have been set targets and KPI’s they must adhere too. This is all in place to make sure the business runs smoothly and profitable with the help of software I purchased that holds this information
and the use of spreadsheets I built which monitor all the key data and KPI’s.
KPI’s include spend targets for the individual to make sure they’re hitting figures necessarily to run efficiently. They have a quota for them to hit which involves them reaching out to different suppliers trying to build relationships to expand the business and Deals per day minimum. Every month the KPI’s would be reviewed against performance to make sure they are being hit & if they’re not being hit then PIP ( performance improvement plans ) would be put in place and monitoring of performance closely including software that monitors the screen of the individual to make sure the work is being done.
I would deal with suppliers from around the world building relationships that would lead to business opportunities that work financially for all parties, carry out monthly stock audits, chasing up suppliers etc for missing stock and trying to get refunds etc for lost / not delivered
stock.
I would be responsible for handling the cashflow of a business turning over in excess of £50,000 per month and the challenges that come with a budget. Finding the right products that sell to ensure the money comes back fast enough to rinse and repeat. It is important to make sure the management of the finances are critical and they are being spent and used wisely to ensure we are not cash strapped and the business will continue running in a profitable way for as long as possible. This includes simple management such as Wages, Overtime if necessary and fits within our budget, holidays etc. The cashflow of a online reselling business is the biggest priority. Constantly dealing with credit suppliers to enhance credit options to ensure the business is able to run and expand whilst understanding there isn’t a unlimited amount of money.
This time has been spent learning the ropes of people management skills, finances, business, team building, working to peoples strengths and weaknesses to build a successful operation and dealing with all sorts of people and businesses. As well as a deeper understanding of figures, data and analytics to be a more rounded business owner. As well as building confidence talking to the team and individuals about facts and figures as well as problems that may occur, I would lead these conference calls with confidence and authority talking about the data that’s been reviewed. Giving the team a calm and re assuring figure they can rely on. Business now sold
