- Worked around all areas of the business as I studied to qualify for my apprenticeship such as upholstery, sewing, cushion filling, action building and motor fitting, repairs internal and external, Quality control, frame building, spraying, allocating work, stores, fabric laying and cutting and work running.
- Upholstery- worked on set jobs to be completed for customers orders by ticket work.
- Sewing, - perfected the use of sewing machines and different techniques used in sewing components for furniture orders
- Cushion filling- coordinating various fillings for job orders and as well as filling cushions needed on an order basis
- Action Building and motor fitting- spent time training in building actions and fitting motors ready for jobs coming through the factory from making sure tolerances were correct, correct components are fitted and working as intended as well as testing the action before fitting
- Repairs- spent a lot of time in repairs brining all experienced I learnt around the business into one place, repairing work in tracks and fault finding internal and externally when customers had problems with any furniture due to wear and tear, defective parts or misuse of the chair itself, work would be carried out in the factory or in customer homes upon request.
