During my time as Deputy crèche manager I was responsible for a variety of different job roles these included;
Being familiar with the child protection guidelines as set by the local safeguarding board.
Ensuring all team members are following company policies and procedures at all times.
Assist the crèche manager with the day to day management of the staff.
Ensure that all health and safety policies are complied with at all times and if needed, to escalate any issues to the crèche manager.
Support the crèche manager in meeting occupancy objectives.
It would also be my role to support the manager with the effective induction of all staff members ensuring quality standards are always maintained.
There were also times in the absence of the crèche manager I would have to ensure any complaints are recorded correctly and then reported to the manager on their return.
Throughout my time at IKEA I was responsible for a variety of tasks including organising play activities, talking to parents and communicating with other coordinators.
I always ensured an overall safety and well being of all the children and provided a stable, caring and stimulating environment for all of the children.
Everyday it would also be my responsibility to ensure all rooms are prepared and set out in readiness for the day and relevant checks done and logged both morning and evening.
I would always advise the crèche management of any matter requiring their attention and ensure all Ikea’s policies are adhered to.
I would undertake any training where necessary including First Aid at work.
This role included effectively supervising pupils in the dining hall, helping them with a variety of tasks and dealing with misbehaviour and reporting any problems.
I would also tender to pupils who are sick or injured and ensuring they receive appropriate medical attention and reporting serious accidents.
Being aware of responsibilities under child protection legalisation.
This role included supervising children eating and playing in the lunch hour, encouraging the children to eat their food.
Ensuring they are behaving correctly and respecting all within the dining area.
