Ruth Louis

I am a lively, creative and energetic graduate with a Master of Arts Degree in Professional Acting from Drama Studio London, with previous training at Mountview Academy of Dramatic Arts. I hope to gain further experience working in theatre and education, having worked for the Roundhouse Trust on their youth team providing creative courses to children and young people and managing early career dancers, actors artists and musicians at an entertainment agency. I would like to eventually work as a facilitator for an arts charity or as a qualified drama teacher, inspiring young actors to embark on a creative career path. I am particularly interested in increasing the accessibility of the creative industries and encouraging young talented individuals to pursue a career in the arts, especially those who have had minimal exposure to classes or industry opportunities. I would love the opportunity to direct and produce a performance for young creatives, using my creative skillset to inspire a future generation of performers. I provide a warm and positive energy to any work team, I am a team player and work very hard to deliver the best I can in any role, especially when it is for a cause I believe in wholeheartedly. Organised professional with focus on coordinating projects and streamlining operations. • Worked in semi-professional productions at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
• Played Juliet in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet for Raiser Theatre (2015, The Space Niddry Street, Edinburgh Fringe Festival)
• Performed as Ilse in the two-woman contemporary play Bunker Girls by Mike Punter (2017, The Space at Surgeon's Hall, Edinburgh Fringe Festival)
• Directed Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors (2018, The Space at Surgeon's Hall, Edinburgh Fringe Festival)
• Attended workshops on Pinter, directing, and Shakespeare at the NSDF festival in Hull
• Attended workshops run by Frantic Assembly and Théâtre de Complicite
• Received Theatre Studies award from Highgate School
• Received Drama Extra-curricular award from Highgate School
• Completed a short course at Mountview Academy of Dramatic Arts in Shakespeare and Improvisation
• Part of the cast of Vicki Kisner's short film 'Pulling' accepted into the Cannes Short Film Corner (2018)
• Attended audition coaching short course at LAMDA
• Achieved Grade 8 distinction in musical theatre from the University of West London
• Performed in countless productions for the theatre company DST
• Attends weekly professional acting classes at Lonesome Workshops in London with special guests from The Old Vic, Jesse Quinones, Casting Director's Guild
• Performed as Snow White in a touring pantomime in schools in West London and Malvern. Performed at Malvern Theatre for members of the public.
• Directed A Christmas Carol at Highgate School for years 4-6
• Acted as Assistant Director for my year group's Showreel filming production at Drama Studio London
• Performed at The Arts Theatre, The Playground Theatre, and The Courtyard Theatre as part of professional productions
• Wrote and Directed my own filmed comedy skit which was commended by industry professionals Jesse Quionones, Niall Phillips, Emily Loizou.
• Currently acting in two feature-length action films to be released in 2025 and sent to UK and international film festivals.
