• Working on GE aviation and GE land & marine Gas Turbine engine products as product system engineer. Mainly working on structures and rotating parts, such as compressor and turbine frames, bearing housings, Casings, stator assemblies, compressor/turbine rotor disks, rotating and static air/oil seals etc.
• Providing technical leadership to a team of five engineers working on new-make design and in-service nonconformances.
• Developed new weld and thermal spray repairs for Compressor front/rear frame and Turbine mid frame assembly components to restore worn areas and out of tolerance dimensions.
• Performed simple stress calculations to substantiate nonconformances.
• Coordinated with cross functional teams, design hardware owners and Controlled title holders. Also, worked with repair shops to ensure feasibility of repairs. Performing Fit, Form and Function Analyses.
• Worked on GE departure records. Provided improved repair solutions for nonconforming engine hardware resulting in 10% reduction in part rejections.
• Produced compliance checklist for departure records to show compliance to FAA 14 CFR part 33/ EASA CS-E regulations.

• Worked in Combustion & Casings design team for both R-R Civil Large and Civil Small/Medium Turbofan Engines. Worked on NPI design solutions of engine parts such as Trent XWB-97 HP/IP Turbine casings, Pearl 700/10X HP Turbine Casing and heat shields from understanding Sub-System requirements, drafting component requirements, generating concepts to final design definition and verification.
• Adept at identifying problems, potential root causes for problems and devising solutions. Mitigated design and manufacturing risks by implementing mistake proof activities established from FMEA and lessons learned from previous design and failures.
• Reviewed non-conformance history and developed solutions to eliminate non-conformances in new design in coordination with cross functional teams and manufacturer.
• Collaborated effectively as team player, facilitating positive engagement.
• Trainer for engine familiarization, basic GD & T and tolerance stack up courses for new joiners. R-R authorized PLM Teamcenter Light User trainer. Trained 90+ personnel on Teamcenter.

Design Engineer and Sub-System Design Integrator

• Worked for R-R Deutschland Complex Fabrications design and R-R Derby Externals Sub-systems.
• As design engineer, designed/modified complex sheet metal formed and fabricated parts such as Core fairings, Turbine Fairings, Services trays and HPTCC manifolds assembly.
• Developed design solutions that met product requirements. Created and maintained risk register for managing product and project risks. Collaborated with various cross functional teams such as Manufacturing, Sub-systems, Stress, Thermals, air system, Aerodynamics, Build, repair and service engineering team, Fire & Vent etc. to evaluate and improve design.
• Authored Design Definition Reports, interface documents and Component requirement documents. Presented design work through gate technical reviews to Product Chief Engineer and other advocate supporters and approvers.
• Produced detailed part drawings, solution and Fitting instruction drawings. Experience in Siemens NX.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 standard. Experience in GD & T, worse case and probabilistic statistical tolerance stack up analysis methods.
• Authorized PDM admin and PDM Key user in R-R India organization.
• Supervised outsourced engineering work packages. Experience in writing Statements of Works (SOWs) for suppliers.
• Familiar with engine Fuel system, oil system, drain system and Tip clearance control system etc.
• As SSDI, carried out initial Sub-system concept study to reduce cost & weight of Turbine Tip Clearance Control (TCC) system and collaboratively worked with TCC product system team on determining Subsystem requirements for component design team for TCC system modifications to improve engine performance and TGT margin for Trent XWB-97.
• Performed risk assessment of J-blades (brackets) of all oil, drain and air system pipes of Trent XWB-97 engine in order to minimize risk of pipe failures to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) and reviewed findings with Subsystem specialists.
• Managed Sub-system requirements. Updated various Installations subsystem requirement documents in DOORS. Performed Functional/Design failure mode and effect analysis (FFMEA/DFMEA).
• Knowledge of various product development processes/tools such as decision making tools (Pugh matrix / Analytical hierarchy process (AHP)), 8D problem-solving methodology, Design for manufacturability (DFM), Design for assembly (DFA) etc.
• Created generic stakeholder map for all chapters of requirements documents within Externals Sub-Systems group as continuous improvement activity.

• Worked for R-R Derby Complex Fabrications team. Designed various unit mounts, both machined and sheet metal, on Fan/Core engine casings for Trent XWB-84, -97 and Trent 1000-TEN engines.
• Re-designing the overweight support structures and mounts of Oil By-pass valves (OBV), Thermal By-pass Valves (TBV), Front Bearing housing vent valve, HP& IP Turbine case cooling actuators and Fuel Drains of Trent XWB.
• Worked on Trent XWB Zone 3 harness cooling tray design through development, flight test and production engines.
• Worked on Airbus requirement of providing additional overheat detection system in Fan case Zone 1. Worked in collaboration with product system team and delivered design solution for TZone1 sensor installation.
• Redesigned Trent 1000-TEN drains mast and block seal to address failed drainage test at Boeing.
• Designated technical reviewer, responsible for checking technical deliverables.
• 1.5 years of onsite experience at Rolls-Royce Plc UK as Contractor from QUEST UK. Provided technical leadership to offshore team. Acted as point of contact for escalated queries and concerns for team of engineers.
• Conducted Quality Maintenance Assessment (QMA) for various Line Replaceable Units (LRU’s) of Trent XWB for Airbus.
