  • Working on GE aviation and GE land & marine Gas Turbine engine products as product system engineer. Mainly working on structures and rotating parts, such as compressor and turbine frames, bearing housings, Casings, stator assemblies, compressor/turbine rotor disks, rotating and static air/oil seals etc.
  • Providing technical leadership to a team of five engineers working on new-make design and in-service nonconformances.
  • Developed new weld and thermal spray repairs for Compressor front/rear frame and Turbine mid frame assembly components to restore worn areas and out of tolerance dimensions.
  • Performed simple stress calculations to substantiate nonconformances.
  • Coordinated with cross functional teams, design hardware owners and Controlled title holders. Also, worked with repair shops to ensure feasibility of repairs. Performing Fit, Form and Function Analyses.

Design Engineer and Sub-System Design Integrator

  • Worked for R-R Deutschland Complex Fabrications design and R-R Derby Externals Sub-systems.
  • As design engineer, designed/modified complex sheet metal formed and fabricated parts such as Core fairings, Turbine Fairings, Services trays and HPTCC manifolds assembly.

  • Managed Sub-system requirements. Updated various Installations subsystem requirement documents in DOORS. Performed Functional/Design failure mode and effect analysis (FFMEA/DFMEA).
  • Knowledge of various product development processes/tools such as decision making tools (Pugh matrix / Analytical hierarchy process (AHP)), 8D problem-solving methodology, Design for manufacturability (DFM), Design for assembly (DFA) etc.

  • Re-designing the overweight support structures and mounts of Oil By-pass valves (OBV), Thermal By-pass Valves (TBV), Front Bearing housing vent valve, HP& IP Turbine case cooling actuators and Fuel Drains of Trent XWB.
  • Worked on Trent XWB Zone 3 harness cooling tray design through development, flight test and production engines.
  • Worked on Airbus requirement of providing additional overheat detection system in Fan case Zone 1. Worked in collaboration with product system team and delivered design solution for TZone1 sensor installation.
  • Redesigned Trent 1000-TEN drains mast and block seal to address failed drainage test at Boeing.
  • Designated technical reviewer, responsible for checking technical deliverables.
  • 1.5 years of onsite experience at Rolls-Royce Plc UK as Contractor from QUEST UK. Provided technical leadership to offshore team. Acted as point of contact for escalated queries and concerns for team of engineers.
  • Conducted Quality Maintenance Assessment (QMA) for various Line Replaceable Units (LRU’s) of Trent XWB for Airbus.
