Summary

I finished high school in June 2025 and am now studying at Burnley College, enrolled on a Level 3 sports fitness and personal training course, with a intention of focussing on people with disabilities who want to get active but feel self conscious & misunderstood..

This ties in with my own cerebral palsy diagnosis and the daily challenges I deal with and overcome.

I was an army cadet for 2 years until February 2025, I gave it up to concentrate on my schoolwork. .

When I was in the cadets we practiced first aid & achieved my First Aid at Work certificate. Also team bonding activities, navigation skills & field craft, whilst attending the twice weekly parade nights.

I also attended weekend field camps, which consisted of team building exercises such as carrying a cadet on a stretcher in teams, setting up & breaking camp & cross country navigation exercises, putting into practice all I learnt at the parade nights.

I also represented the Cadet Force as a poppy seller, and took part in the Remembrance Sunday parades around Clitheroe.

I enjoy going to the gym in my spare time. And also attend the gym whilst at college four days a week.

During my work experience I reported directly to the store manager.

At Booths I helped organise the days deliveries with the wider team.

I was shown how to work the back stock onto the shelves and 'face up' stock in the customer areas.

I was shown how to scan the stock that was soon to be out of date and was tasked with the job of organising & putting the discount labels on. Whilst working in the store, I helped and interacted with customers who approached me, wanting information.

I greeted and welcomed shoppers into the store and helped to co-ordinate shopping trolleys across the site.

I enjoyed working at Booths and working with my colleagues there.

I received good feedback from the management team & I was encouraged to apply for another position in the future if I wanted to, when I was settled into college.
