Ruby Hurford

This was a self-paced 3-4 hour virtual job simulator in the Latham & Watkins Mergers and Acquisitions branch. This was through the Forage platform, and I received a certificate for my achievement. It entailed working on Project Reno. Latham & Watkins were hired by Delaware biopharmaceutical client Denove Inc., which is considering being acquired by the large pharmaceutical company Sano Inc. My tasks included aiding this merger process.

Details of my work included:

- Reviewing a Non-Disclosure Agreement and advising Denove Inc. on whether to accept or resist the revised NDA position from Sano Inc.

- Aiding in due diligence, reviewing Denove Inc.'s manufacturing agreements as requested by my colleague and emailing back my response on whether or not to disclose them against the "no conflicts" representation.

- Commercial legal advice- processing a potential competing bid for acquiring Denove Inc. from a long-term shareholder of Denove Inc.

- Preparing a client presentation

• Contributed to team efficiency by promptly clearing tables and resetting them for incoming guests.
• Food and drinks runner.
• Sorted bills.
• Taking food and drink orders.
• Persevered during peak hours while remaining courteous towards customers despite time constraints and high-pressure situations.
• Maintained a clean and inviting dining area, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere for guests.
• Supported overall restaurant operations by assisting with opening or closing duties as needed.

This was a one-week work shadowing experience during my secondary school education.

• Processed sales, returns, online orders, and gift card activations.
• Greeted customers, helped locate merchandise, and suggested suitable options.
• Stocked merchandise, clearly labeling items, and arranging according to size or color.
• Replenished sales floor merchandise and organized shelves, racks, and bins for optimal appearance.
• Organised the stock room and dressed mannequins.
