I would be very interested in a position here and grateful for any opportunity you may be able to offer. Thank you for considering my application.
I am currently a Year 12 student at John Taylor High School studying 3 A-levels plus a Sports Leadership course. I am studying PE, Psychology and Chemistry. Whilst at JTHS I have been a Sporting Young Ambassador which involved promoting sport and encouraging Primary aged children in the local area to be active and involved in sports. I went to various schools to speak in assemblies to the children and helped with their Sports Days. Another part of the young ambassador role involved helping organise and run the Community Teas, where retired people from the village came to school for an afternoon tea, and as ambassadors we got the chance to sit down with them and talk to them about their lives, which was really interesting. Now, being a sports leader, I have taken on the role of organising events such as a youth netball tournament, planning and leading sport session such as netball, where I have recently led 3 progressing sessions with a variety of new skills being taught for the young girls and football club at school. Furthermore, being a sports leader has taught me how to work in a team effectively and demonstrate my views and opinions whilst appreciating other members’ also. I have played football for 7 years, firstly for Whittington Girls and now for Tamworth FC. I have also played on the school team every year during High School and won The County Cup as Captain. I spent 2 years as an assistant coach for the U9 Girls team at Tamworth, a role which allowed me to develop my leadership and communication skills, and to plan and organise training sessions. It was an amazing experience being able to encourage and guide the girls and watch their progress. All of this has taught me to work well as part of a team, to have a positive attitude, to take responsibility and to work hard. I also now play for a Netball team with older women which has helped me develop confidence when speaking to people not my age and being able to socialise with all ages.
