Ruben Hampson

Motivated and curious sixth former with a genuine interest in global business, particularly the client relationship side. I've built this through hands-on internships including a global hedge fund and shadowing a founder in a client-facing environment, where I have seen how businesses listen to client needs and shape their approach around them. I bring an entrepreneurial and analytical mindset, built through creating and growing my own finance content page, alongside strong communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for learning how organisations really operate.

Personal finance content creation

• Created a personal finance page sharing what I learn about investing, budgeting and wider financial topics to the younger generation
• So far grown a combined audience of nearly 3,000 followers, which has significantly sharpened my confidence and communication by engaging a large audience virtually, laying early foundations for the client-facing conversations I hope to have in future

Yale Financial Markets

• Completed the online Financial Markets course by Robert Shiller in May 2026, reflecting my thirst for knowledge and a desire to build a deeper understanding of financial markets
• Explored core concepts including CAPM, risk management and behavioural finance, building a broader understanding of how financial markets function at a global level

Commercial Awareness 

• Helped my mum open and set up her ISA, translating financial knowledge into practical support tailored to someone else's needs and goals
• Built commercial awareness through regular reading of the Financial Times and podcasts including This Is Money and The Diary of a CEO, further sharpening my interest in how large organisations operate

Economics Ambassador 

• Wrote articles for the year group on economics topics, including the AI bubble and behavioural finance, driven by a genuine passion for financial topics and a desire to make academic concepts more accessible to peers
• Volunteered an evening after school to speak with Year 11 students about economics, communicating clearly and collaborating with staff to help students decide whether the subject was right for them

Debate Club

• Competed in MACE debating in teams of three during Year 12, developing the ability to structure a persuasive argument and respond effectively to counterarguments
• The experience reinforced how central collaboration is especially in a competitive setting, requiring me to effectively communicate with two teammates under intense time pressure, a skill I see as essential in any client-facing environment

Practice calisthenics and exercise regularly which has allowed me to stay disciplined and focused in all areas of my life. I also play golf with family and friends for fun.
