There was some training in machinery specific to the manufacturing of some food items that fell within the responsibility of my department.
My responsibilities varied while at Frigecosse and ranged from the allocation of stock on behalf of customers storing their produce in the warehouse, and maintaining accurate stock records for the customer. Sometimes engaging directly with the customer as and when instructions change of with issues relating to their instructions and the stock already on site or incoming.
This along with the unloading of trucks and placing the pallets within their designated areas on the warehouse floor, taking accurate documentation of deliveries ensuring no items were missing or damaged.
Loading vehicles as per a manifest was also something i regularly had to do, in a timely manner due to time restraints and at times under pressure depending on the time of year. Whiles documenting what was contained on each pallet and the location in the trailer it was situated (load manifests).
Most of this involved pen and paper, but towards the end of my time with Frigecosse, we were slowly transitioning to scanning software for Goods in/out. So there is limited experience with scanning software used in the distribution industry.
Some of the skills i feel i have acquired through my previous jobs would firstly be my willingness to take on the challenge of something new and my ability to solve problems, be it through asking for help or finding the solution myself
I've found that i do thrive in pressure situations, whether it be a time sensitive situation such as manufacturing or distribution, or in my recent role of handling intense situations within a live community with input relevant to the situation or otherwise from multiple sources
I can excel as part of a team or on my own and i do feel i work well with others through experience I have built on over the last 17 years through managing and organizing people within a team of volunteers, conflict mediation and support for members with queries while remaining impartial and open minded, and being able to engage while respecting a persons sensitivities or personal ideals, which i feel make me a good fit for working within a team environment
