I am Crew Manager within the local goverment Fire ans Rescue Service, an experienced emergemcy response driver and HAZMATS qualified. I hold current trauma immedicate care qualifications and as an army veteran have years of experience in battlefield casualty drills and operational experience.
I am a qualified incident commander holdong the rank of Crew Manager.
Providing response to range of incident types as an operational firefighter, in order to
save saveable life, saveable property and the environment whilst, providing prevention and protection education in the local community to make lancashire safer as a whole.
● Respond safely and swiftly to emergency incidents including but not exclusively; Road traffic collisions, Water Rescue, Fires, Animal rescue, Incidents at height/confined space/below ground, bariatric persons rescues, HAZMAT incidents, rail & aircraft.
● Maintain, inspect, test and repair all operational equipment to approved standards and procedures;
● Ensuring high levels of fitness maintained;
● Working within the community providing fire safety advice in local schools and to all members of the community taking care to be sensitive to the needs of different cultures within the county;

● Undertake routine administration tasks as required in order to ensure all entries to records are correct and kept up to date
● Practice and promote the Health and Safety policies of the Service;

Supervised on-site tasks for quality assurance and control.
I am employed as a Driver Technician working on the Total Energies Bitumen contract. This is a highly safety focused and prioritised environment whereby zero harm is at the core of all we do. Following a lengthy training program, I am responsible for the controlled loading 30000 litres of bitumen into road tankers, onward transportation to customer sites and the safe discharge of product into storage this requires me to follow lengthy procedures all designed to prevent negligent discharge or uncontrolled release of products which can be in excess of 200 degrees.
My role involves the use of both pressure and pumps to transfer products and the opening and closing of valves in the correct sequence, this achieved by following set procedures, crossing off each point as I move along and monitoring pressures and levels. it is a complex and potentially dangerous role however taking responsibility and following all procedures ensures a safe working environment.
As a tanker driver I began on a blood contract, sampling and extracting bovine and porcine blood from abattoirs using pumps to load and discharge.
I moved onto general purpose liquid tanks and eventually ADR loads moving all manner of products across the UK / IRELAND.
I also loaded and discharged bulk powder blowing/ tipping tanks.
Transport manager/ owner operator of a small fleet of 44tonne vehicles. My business being a mix of own account and 3PL, largely centred on the movement of specialist aggregates and commodities on behalf of the cement production and agricultural industry.
When a service agreement with a major contributor to the volume of my business was lost in in 2018 I decided to close the company and divert my attentions to my young family.
A formidable experience, running the business was certainly one of my greatest challenges and achievements of which I am proud.
The skills gained have and will always carry me in my future roles as well as humble me and make me thankful for being part of a team in much larger organisations where knowledge is shared and gained through interactions and ever evolving processes.
Following my early career as an Infantry Soldier, I joined the Army Reserves and committed the next 16 years to balancing both a civilian and millitary career, giving something back to the wider community whilst gaining and benefiting from multitude of leadership and management skills and training opportunities which have been transferrable across my civilian endeavours.
As a class 1 Infantry Soldier I was deployed on Operation Banner between 02-06 on internal security and counter terrorism. In its breifest format my role included; Covert observation and reconissence, Public Order duties, Urban and Rural Patrols, Intelligence gathering.

ADR Chemical tanker deliviery predominantly class 2 & 8 chemicals to customers across the UK.
Safley loading Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Hypochlorite, Ferric etc in line with company and loading site proceedures.
Safe discharge of products at customers site, adhering to company safe operating proceedures and customer site specific safety instructions.
Delivering to water / utilities facilities.
Beyond my work life, I am daddy to two young children who I adore and treasure spending time with. I am also a keen CrossFit enthusiast and enjoy staying fit and active through functional fitness and movement. I am also a keen runner and enjoy long distance events.
