A family member works at the shelter and once I found out they were struggling for volunteers I decided to give some of my time to help out.
The main jobs were completed by the trained staff, but I was happy to help in any way I could.
In my previous job as a shop floor assistant I picked up a number of skills:
I enjoyed interacting with the public and found it hugely rewarding that I was able to assist people with any needs or inquiries they may have had When assisting customers I could accurately assess which customers perhaps needed extra assistance or needed me to explain something in a simpler way that they could understand, and I took pride in the fact that customers greatly thanked me for my help
When choosing my A-levels I specifically picked ones that would benefit my potential career in law enforcement because I had known that this was the path I was aiming to take for years before entering sixth form I chose criminology and sociology to hopefully help assist my hopes of being in law enforcement, and history because it is a passion of mine In taking criminology and sociology, my passion for policing and law enforcement only grew, making me extremely excited to finish school and begin my journey of working in the police as I had always dreamed
