Rory Hogan

I am a qualified auditor with experience in financial management and a strong commitment to making a meaningful impact. Currently on sabbatical to pursue personal goals and realign my career, I am eager to apply my skills and passion for international development in the humanitarian sector.

In my previous role as an Audit Assistant Manager, I was recognised for my reliability, quick learning ability, and effective team leadership. I consistently approached team development with a focus on continuous improvement, striving to enhance operational efficiency and support the growth of my colleagues.

My interest in international development has been a driving force throughout my career. With a background in Economics and a dissertation focused on Microfinance, I have developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the developing world. Travelling to remote regions has further solidified my commitment to addressing these issues. I am now eager to leverage my financial expertise to contribute to the vital work of Doctors Without Borders.

• I took up cycling as a means to end, working as a Deliveroo rider through the various lockdowns. Surprised by the enjoyment it brought, I recruited two friends and cycled from Sussex to the southern edge of Sardinia, a distance of 1,800km bringing us closer to Tunisia than anywhere in mainland Europe, and in doing so raising £1,462 for Phyliss Tuckwell Hospice.
• I am an avid traveller, having spent lengthy periods of time in South America, Asia, and Southern/Eastern Africa. Key to the cultivation of communication skills using both verbal and non-verbal communication to overcome language barriers.
