Robert (Joel) Laverty

I began as a logistics operator in Wright bus on the 1st of November 2024, starting off I was working as goods outwards meaning I was responsible

• Sending out customer's orders by locating their parts in a very large warehouse.
• Trying to get as many of the customer's orders sent out per day as possible was very important to the company to keep our customer's happy, meaning you were extremely busy all day.

After a few months working in goods outwards, another section of our warehouse needed help in goods inwards so I volunteered to help out, where I have now been made permanent in this role. In this role I was responsible for

• Management of deliveries, anything that arrived would be checked off and signed for then put away in an appropriate place in the warehouse.
• If there was ever anything wrong with the orders we would have to get in touch with the company which delivered us these goods.
• We also used a lot of Microsoft teams and emails in this role to keep in touch with the sales department if anything had gone missing or a delivery was incorrect. This helped improve my IT skills using Microsoft teams, spreadsheet, outlook, Sage, DefCapture etc.

I joined Costa back in June 2021 as a team member and worked my way towards earning a promotion to team leader, which I gained in February 2022. I have gained valuable experience working here and some of my roles included the following:

• Led shifts and motivated team to drive sales.
• Professionally handled difficult customer complaints and objections to maintain first-class customer service standards.
• Resolved employee relations issues and navigated disciplinary proceedings.
• Fostered positive employee relationships through communication, training and coaching.
• Provided leadership and direction for employees, supervising activities to drive productivity and efficiency.
• Prioritised and assigned tasks for strategic and optimised distribution of workloads.

I have really enjoyed my time in Costa, however I feel it is time for a new challenge as I would like to begin building a career elsewhere.
