Landmark is a London based insurance agent specialising in complex risk placements across the globe.
The company places insurance risks for a wide range of insurance products in sectors such as engineering, manufacturing, energy and transportation.
The company also writes special construction risks, particularly in Australia where it underwrites a number of large road and infrastructure companies projects
My role involved assisting underwriters and operational support by summarising and collating risk submissions. Prioritising the most important to ensure maximum engagement with policyholders.
Post binding / sale my role included assisting with document issuance both to policyholders and to insurance carrier partners.
This role has given me valuable insight into the global construction and engineering marketplace including the macro and microeconomic challenges the industry faces.
As part of an in-school programme, I was given the opportunity to work at St Elizabeth’s Centre, a school for children and young adults with moderate to severe learning difficulties and complex neurological conditions.
My time at St Elizabeth’s granted me a great deal of insight, wherein I learned how to better interact with younger people and conduct myself in a way where I could be most useful.
Many of my responsibilities centred around organising files and updating documents for some of the company’s staff members.
This broad role allowed me to pursue a multi-faceted approach into working for Landmark, where I could engage with every department.
This enhanced my abilities with programmes such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, all of which I frequently use for my studies.
My role involved restocking shelves when new product came in on a daily basis. I was also responsible for manning the till and selling items to customers.
This face-to-face experience provided me with a great sense of understanding on how to effectively communicate with potential buyers, and has increased my levels of confidence.
