  • At Camp Speers YMCA I took on roles as a camp counsellor for 5 weeks and as a Counsellor in Training leader for 4 weeks.
  • Working as a camp counsellor, the focus was on making sure the campers had an enjoyable, safe and informative experience, and that any conflicts were resolved safely and amicably.
  • Counselors in training were taught how to act appropriately and responsibly in camp scenarios, and how to become resilient, capable and confident counselors. The training also included taking the cohort of 12 out onto the Appalachian Trail for 4 days of team building and resiliency training.
  • Consistently facilitated outdoor adventures throughout all programs for improved physical health and wellbeing of campers.

  • In my role at BFITS I oversaw 11 classes in two different schools in Bangkok, as a technology specialist. The students were in M1, M2 and M3, aged between 12 and 14 years.
  • The classes had a combined student body of around 300. My key objectives were to help all students pass the course based on the syllabus objectives. For M3 this meant building their own functioning app, whilst for M1 this meant creating a prototype model for cleaning the Chao Phraya River.

  • Within this role my primary objective was to increase the response rate to the UK 2021 Census through direct contact with householders.
  • The key tasks would range from simply providing information to householders to directly filling in the questionnaire with them when they had difficulties, for example illiteracy or a lack of internet connection.
  • Played a role within a wider team in the local area to help us achieve one of the highest localized response rates across the UK.
  • Conducted door-to-door surveys, ensuring accurate demographic representation.
