I am a wordsmith. Starting as the Music Editor for the ‘Student’ magazine at Edinburgh University (1979-1981), continued to write for ‘Hot Press’, Ireland’s weekly music mag, (1982-1989). Then mined my other passion – rugby – contributing to the dummy editions & launch of “The Independent on Sunday” 1991-1992. This was the first launch of a national Sunday newspaper in the UK for nearly 50 years. From 1995-2003 contributed to Rugby News as a feature writer. Now rugby league contributor for League Publications Ltd, Yorkshire.
