In my 15-year journey in primary education, I have grown from a Teaching Assistant to a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This evolution was driven by my passion for education and my commitment to professional development. My educational foundation was solidified through three primary school placements at Greenwich University, followed by a Teaching Assistant role at Fosters Primary School. I pursued a degree with the Open University while serving as an HLTA at Valley Primary School. Additionally, I had the privilege of leading the music program at Foxfield Primary School, overseeing music education and spearheading projects like the school choir's appearance on Good Morning Britain and one-on-one instrument lessons for vulnerable students.
My academic journey culminated in the attainment of a Bachelor of Science degree in Music and Maths from the Open University. Subsequently, I joined Benedict House Prep School, where I completed an iPGCE at the University of Buckingham. During my five years at Benedict House, I have taught various year groups, including Year 5, Year 2, and my current role in Year 3. Simultaneously, I have excelled in my role as Head of ICT, devising a comprehensive curriculum and enhancing computing education across all year levels. I have also been instrumental in introducing innovative technology to elevate our ICT provisions.
Beyond the classroom, I have actively engaged in extracurricular activities, fostering creativity and a love for the arts among students. I have played a pivotal role in school play productions, managing stage lights and sound, and have led clubs such as football and choir, effectively motivating and collaborating with students and adults alike.
My proficiency in ICT, including the seamless integration of interactive whiteboard technology into my teaching, aligns perfectly with Benedict House's commitment to technological innovation and excellence.
My organizational skills, proactive mindset, and approachable nature enable me to ensure smooth and productive teaching days, optimizing instructional time. I believe in maintaining an open and supportive environment, ensuring that staff, students, and parents feel comfortable approaching me with their needs and ideas.
I am passionate about embracing challenges and eager to contribute to Benedict House's continued success. The school's dedication to excellence in primary education and its mission to inspire students to reach their fullest potential resonate deeply with my teaching philosophy and values.
