AW101 Merlin Operational Conversion Unit, RNAS CULDROSE.

• All aspects of flying and flight preparation, General Handling, Instrument Flying, Transfers - boats & submarines, Load-Lifting, Deck Landings, Combined Anti-Submarine Exercises, all including night. Successfully completed OCU, achieved wings 25th June 21, (medically downgraded shortly afterwards). Subsequently left RN Nov 23.

• 1 of 3 ACLOs covering the whole South East region, managed career applications for officer candidates for roles from Medical Officers, Chaplains, Aircrew, Engineering Officers and Warfare and Logistics roles.
• Conducted assessed interviews, including selection and coaching and onward management to suitable candidates to proceed through to further selection and entry into the Royal Navy.
• Managed a team of non-commissioned officers across 2 offices in Southampton and Portsmouth, including engagement with local schools, youth organisations and universities.
• Acted as assistant Fleet Air Arm (FAA) Specialist, advising Royal Navy recruitment teams on all aspects of aviation.
• 2 month period on HMS Queen Elizabeth to the USA, assisting in aircraft operations and developing new embarkation procedures.

• BRNC Dartmouth Officer Training: honing the Royal Navy's core values: Courage, Commitment, Discipline, Respect, Integrity, Loyalty - whilst training skills focused heavily on leadership, teamwork, presentations, fitness, team work, management and maritime studies.
• Grading & Elementary Flying Training Tutor T1, RAF Cranwell - 67:10hrs.
• Single Engine Rotary Wing Training, AS350 (Squirrel) RAF Shawbury - 93:30hrs.
• Multi-Engine Rotary Wing, Bell 412 (Griffin HT.1) RAF Shawbury - 63:30hrs.
• Including IF, mountains, winching, low-level navigation, tactical flying and NVG.
• During this period, also completed land and sea survival courses, fire fighting training, represented the Royal Navy in Judo and completed CMI Level 5 Management and Leadership.

• During basic engineering training achieved very high exam results, and demonstrated leadership potential early-on. Awarded 'Fast-Track' promotion, first person to receive such in 8 months among hundreds of apprentices
• During my first operational deployment as an AET, further recognised for my abilities in engineering, leadership, initiative and inter-personal skills. Recommended by Commanding Officer of ship HMS ARGYLL, to be forwarded for Officer candidacy (to become a pilot).
• 14 months avionics supervisor's course, 4 week leadership course. deployed on HMS ILLUSTRIOUS to the Indian Ocean, supervising maintenance on Sea King Mk4 helicopters.
• Selected to join Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth to start officer training to be a pilot in May 2014.

• Performed duties of an Operational Support grade in two prisons.
• Escorting contractors, prisoners, conducting searches, working in security, visits.
• A particularly pertinent role was running the prison routine from the control room, using the prison radio net and cameras to give orders and coordinate incidents and outside agencies.
